Merriman Curhan Ford a Top Investment Banking Placement Agent by Deal Volume in 2008
SAN FRANCISCO--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Merriman Curhan Ford (NASDAQ:MERR) announced today that it ranked fifth among investment banks for U.S. private investment in public equity (PIPE) deal volume in 2008, according to PlacementTracker1.
For the year, Merriman completed 11 PIPE transactions and placed more than $225 million for its clients. The firm's PIPE deal volume ranking improved from seventh place among investment banking placement agents in 2007.
"Our 2008 PIPE ranking clearly demonstrates that the worst financial crisis in a century did not stop our team from pushing hard and completing transactions on our clients' behalf," said Jon Merriman, chief executive officer of Merriman Curhan Ford. "We have consistently ranked in the top eight among U.S. investment banks in terms of PIPE volume since our inception nearly seven years ago, while also establishing a broad range of investment banking expertise – from PIPEs and follow-ons to M&A and IPOs. I believe PIPEs will continue to be a solid source of funding for fast-growing companies seeking capital in a difficult environment."
