TORONTO--(Marketwire - May 11, 2009) - W2 Energy (PINKSHEETS: [ WTWO ]), a sustainable energy company, is pleased to announce that W2 Solar, its solar power subsidiary, has purchased the Therm2Volt System which converts heat into electricity using solid state circuitry.

W2 Solar will use the Therm2Volt System to convert solar heat into electricity on many of its solar heat and electricity systems, which will increase profitability for W2 Solar clients and joint venture partners.

W2 Energy will also use the Therm2Volt System to turn heat into electricity in their mass-to-energy plants, which will increase its thermal efficiency.

W2 Solar has also has purchased the rights to develop Thinking Home Software for Windows.

Over 1200 copies of Thinking Home have been sold over the last nine years. Thinking Home currently controls every aspect of a home's energy system via computer and/or voice activation. W2 Solar will convert Thinking Home Software into a Windows-based software system which will be able to control commercial buildings up to 100,000 square feet and more.

W2 Solar will sell the Mac-based home version of Thinking Home on w2solar.com.

W2 Energy has issued to Bruce Lawton 250,000 shares of its common stock for the rights to Thinking Home, and 1,000,000 shares of its common stock for the rights to the Therm2Volt system.

Mr. Lawton has joined W2 Solar as its Chief Technologist. He will be helping to market, design and service all of its solar energy installations.

Mr. Lawton brings to W2 Solar a background as an electrical engineer, software engineer and solar energy system designer and installer.
