National Bank is proud to present the thematic exhibition Public Art in its newly renovated flagship branch at 600 de La Gauchetière West in Montreal. From now until September, clients and the general public are invited to discover this all-new exhibition by visiting the Bank's largest branch in downtown Montreal.

The exhibition, which brings together a selection of artwork from the National Bank Collection, explores artists' take on art in public spaces. "The photographs, sculptures, posters, collages and other contemporary art included in this exhibition are recent expressions of the democratization of art, as it asserts its presence in the public sphere and our daily lives," said art historian Jo-Ann Kane, Curator of the National Bank Collection and President of the Association des Collections d'entreprises du Québec. Ms. Kane has also been an independent member of the Board of Directors of the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec since April.

Public Art occupies a special area of the branch that will be used to periodically showcase the National Bank Collection via temporary exhibitions. Renovated at a cost of $2.5 million and officially inaugurated yesterday at a special employee ceremony, the new flagship branch reflects the latest design standards and National Bank's eco-friendly practices. Branch premises have been expanded and improved, with the addition of a client lounge and an investor salon used for corporate events and communicating information to clients. A new ABM that is accessible at all times has also been installed.

The branch has been designed to make it easier to welcome and assist clients-two components of the red carpet treatment the Bank wants to provide at all of its points of service. The branch redesign is part of the One client one bank vision, and reaffirms National Bank's commitment to being the Bank that truly takes care of its clients.
