May 25, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 3763 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2574 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2766 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Friday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. TUCOWS INC (AMEX:TCX), Uroplasty Inc (AMEX:UPI), CANADIAN SOLAR INC (NASDAQ:CSIQ), DOMARK INTERNATIONAL INC (OTCBB:DOMK), (NASDAQ:KIPS), (AMEX:XG). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  TCX $0.280 20.00% 574,173 27.87% 383,383 18.61% 190,790 6,814
  UPI $0.830 24.78% 738,696 52.49% 664,141 47.19% 74,555 898
  CSIQ $0.450 16.48% 452,102 54.34% 379,609 45.63% 72,493 1,611
  DOMK $0.370 13.07% 363,612 21.17% 310,588 18.08% 53,024 1,433
  KIPS $0.170 15.73% 37,939 55.79% 30,063 44.21% 7,876 463
  XG $0.480 16.84% 206,244 32.45% 177,894 27.99% 28,350 591
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows TCX with a dollar gain Friday of $0.28000 and a Friction Factor of 6,814 shares. That means that it only took 6,814 more shares of buying than selling to move TCX higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
