January 4, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 2564 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1865 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3401 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. QWEST COMMUNICATIONS INTL (NYSE:Q), SPRINT NEXTEL CORP (NYSE:S), CROWN CASTLE INTL CORP (NYSE:CCI), FIFTH THIRD BANCORP (NASDAQ:FITB), DELL INC (NASDAQ:DELL), FINANCIAL SELECT SECTOR SPDR (NYSE:XLF). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .

Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     Q $-0.010 -0.19% 12,607,882 55.38% 8,409,638 36.94% 4,198,244 Abnormal
     S $-0.040 -0.89% 60,490,267 51.27% 50,258,066 42.60% 10,232,201 Abnormal
     CCI $-0.070 -0.16% 3,585,209 70.26% 1,311,932 25.71% 2,273,277 Abnormal
     FITB $-0.010 -0.07% 8,907,342 54.68% 7,377,998 45.30% 1,529,344 Abnormal
     DELL $-0.010 -0.04% 7,599,170 56.07% 5,950,340 43.90% 1,648,830 Abnormal
     XLF $-0.010 -0.06% 29,816,038 54.72% 24,501,498 44.97% 5,314,540 Abnormal

Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Tuesday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows XLF with 5,314,540 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-0.01000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
