Market Maker Surveillance Report. LCTZ, RNN, GLUU, EEE, GCFB, STLY, Winning Stocks With Lowest Price Friction For Wednesday, J
January 5, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 2504 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3314 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2045 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Wednesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. LA CORTEZ ENERGY INC (OTCBB:LCTZ), REXAHN PHARMACEUTICALS INC (AMEX:RNN), GLU MOBILE INC (NASDAQ:GLUU), EVERGREEN ENERGY INC (NYSE:EEE), GRANITE CITY FOOD & BREWERY (NASDAQ:GCFB), STANLEY FURNITURE CO INC (NASDAQ:STLY). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction LCTZ $0.220 22.22% 304,300 47.09% 222,700 34.47% 81,600 3,709 RNN $0.250 21.19% 2,274,876 58.99% 1,438,239 37.30% 836,637 33,465 GLUU $0.480 21.63% 1,580,085 55.86% 1,243,363 43.96% 336,722 7,015 EEE $0.440 61.11% 2,924,917 59.00% 2,054,476 41.44% 870,441 19,783 GCFB $1.430 35.75% 259,238 49.63% 257,086 49.21% 2,152 15 STLY $0.720 20.93% 365,477 52.12% 332,338 47.40% 33,139 460
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows STLY with a dollar gain Wednesday of $0.72000 and a Friction Factor of 460 shares. That means that it only took 460 more shares of buying than selling to move STLY higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
