January 4, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 2564 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1865 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3401 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net sell volume on Tuesday and lowest negative price Friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. KING PHARMACEUTICALS INC (NYSE:KG), MCDONALD'S CORP (NYSE:MCD), SIRIUS XM RADIO INC (NASDAQ:SIRI), MARVELL TECHNOLOGY GROUP LTD (NASDAQ:MRVL), EBAY INC (NASDAQ:EBAY), ISHARES RUSSELL 2000 (NYSE:IWM). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction

     MCD $-2.280 -2.98% 10,862,372 31.23% 21,295,093 61.23% -10,432,721 -45,758
     SIRI $-0.022 -1.29% 35,794,247 45.19% 43,962,743 55.50% -8,168,496 -3,747,017
     MRVL $-0.450 -2.43% 13,264,431 43.93% 16,403,855 54.33% -3,139,424 -69,765
     EBAY $-0.210 -0.73% 4,973,820 38.70% 7,873,599 61.26% -2,899,779 -138,085
     IWM $-1.150 -1.44% 30,449,494 45.16% 33,580,050 49.80% -3,130,556 -27,222

Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have low price friction combined with more selling than buying (negative Net Volume) in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows IWM down $-1.15000 with a Friction Factor of -27,222 and a Net Volume of -3,130,556. That means that it takes 27,222 more shares of selling than buying to drop IWM by one penny. On Monday the Market Makers allowed the stock to move down on heavier selling than buying (low negative friction).
