November 19, 2010 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 2732 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2993 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2076 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. ORACLE CORP (NASDAQ:ORCL), MICROSOFT CORP (NASDAQ:MSFT), VERIZON COMMUNICATIONS INC (NYSE:VZ), BANK OF AMERICA CORP (NYSE:BAC), PFIZER INC (NYSE:PFE), COMCAST CORP-CLASS A (NASDAQ:CMCSA). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     ORCL $-0.15 -0.530% 20,168,734 65.770% 10,265,475 33.480% 9,903,259 Abnormal
     MSFT $-0.17 -0.650% 38,242,970 70.060% 22,880,053 41.910% 15,362,917 Abnormal
     VZ $-0.20 -0.620% 7,893,320 59.310% 4,295,594 32.280% 3,597,726 Abnormal
     BAC $-0.03 -0.260% 53,214,996 53.090% 40,151,483 40.060% 13,063,513 Abnormal
     PFE $-0.06 -0.360% 19,066,367 58.620% 10,524,504 32.360% 8,541,863 Abnormal
     CMCSA $-0.01 -0.050% 12,130,164 74.080% 6,637,989 40.540% 5,492,175 Abnormal

Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Friday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows CMCSA with 5,492,175 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-0.010. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
