November 22, 2010 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 2579 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2431 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2816 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Monday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. MANITEX INTERNATIONAL INC (NASDAQ:MNTX), AFFYMAX INC (NASDAQ:AFFY), MAGIC SOFTWARE ENTERPRISES (NASDAQ:MGIC), CIRRUS LOGIC INC (NASDAQ:CRUS), HAUPPAUGE DIGITAL INC (NASDAQ:HAUP), REGENERON PHARMACEUTICALS (NASDAQ:REGN). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .

Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     MNTX $0.500 16.13% 93,195 59.58% 63,226 40.42% 29,969 599
     AFFY $1.040 18.57% 1,442,204 54.65% 1,187,695 45.00% 254,509 2,447
     MGIC $0.950 18.89% 1,121,633 55.52% 893,174 44.21% 228,459 2,405
     CRUS $2.090 15.12% 9,542,529 51.30% 8,848,957 47.57% 693,572 3,319
     HAUP $0.760 34.55% 2,135,460 54.43% 1,725,664 43.98% 409,796 5,392
     REGN $4.630 18.77% 2,983,994 56.87% 2,239,252 42.68% 744,742 1,609

Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows REGN with a dollar gain Monday of $4.63000 and a Friction Factor of 1,609 shares. That means that it only took 1,609 more shares of buying than selling to move REGN higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
