November 24, 2010 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 2409 companies with "abnormal" market making, 4003 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1486 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. GRYPHON RESOURCES INC (OTCBB:GRYO), QWEST COMMUNICATIONS INTL (NYSE:Q), MOTOROLA INC (NYSE:MOT), GENERAL ELECTRIC CO (NYSE:GE), DELL INC (NASDAQ:DELL), VANGUARD EMERGING MARKET ETF (NYSE:VWO). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     GRYO $0.083 83.00% 11,913,133 42.18% 16,240,565 57.51% -4,327,432 Abnormal
     Q $0.110 1.62% 12,455,904 41.56% 15,363,887 51.26% -2,907,983 Abnormal
     MOT $0.070 0.89% 8,164,230 37.72% 11,699,865 54.06% -3,535,635 Abnormal
     GE $0.160 1.02% 16,737,702 39.87% 20,988,651 50.00% -4,250,949 Abnormal
     DELL $0.020 0.14% 8,616,060 32.05% 18,205,143 67.71% -9,589,083 Abnormal
     VWO $1.000 2.19% 9,333,140 41.43% 13,251,322 58.82% -3,918,182 Abnormal

Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Wednesday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows VWO with 3,918,182 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $1.00000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
