Market Maker Surveillance Report. PEZGF, XPO, IRE, CONN, ELTK, NYNY, Losing Stocks With Lowest Price Friction For Monday, Nove
November 22, 2010 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 2579 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2431 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2816 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Monday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. PEDIMENT GOLD CORP (OTCBB:PEZGF), EXPRESS-1 EXPEDITED SOLUTION (AMEX:XPO), BANK OF IRELAND-SPONS ADR (NYSE:IRE), CONN'S INC (NASDAQ:CONN), ELTEK LTD (NASDAQ:ELTK), EMPIRE RESORTS INC (NASDAQ:NYNY). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction PEZGF $-0.428 -18.53% 155,600 43.15% 204,630 56.74% -49,030 -1,146 XPO $-0.260 -9.74% 299,019 38.75% 441,230 57.18% -142,211 -5,470 IRE $-0.450 -16.85% 12,949,619 45.76% 13,735,099 48.54% -785,480 -17,455 CONN $-0.400 -10.55% 174,191 36.80% 299,143 63.20% -124,952 -3,124 ELTK $-0.260 -17.82% 42,890 30.72% 96,719 69.28% -53,829 -2,070 NYNY $-0.130 -9.25% 574,425 46.29% 666,470 53.71% -92,045 -7,080
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows NYNY with a dollar loss Monday of $-0.13000 and a Friction Factor of -7,080 shares. That means that it only took 7,080 more shares of selling than buying to move NYNY lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
