January 3, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 1737 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2793 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1096 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. INTELLECT NEUROSCIENCES INC (OTCBB:ILNS), CHEVRON CORP (NYSE:CVX), BEST BUY CO INC (NYSE:BBY), EMC CORP/MASS (NYSE:EMC), MERCK & CO. INC. (NYSE:MRK), ISHARES MSCI BRAZIL (NYSE:EWZ). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .

Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     ILNS $0.019 813.04% 11,417,320 46.57% 12,954,102 52.84% -1,536,782 Abnormal
     CVX $0.690 0.76% 2,970,382 38.07% 4,011,460 51.41% -1,041,078 Abnormal
     BBY $0.250 0.73% 3,989,497 38.26% 5,709,037 54.75% -1,719,540 Abnormal
     EMC $0.250 1.09% 7,264,253 39.25% 9,614,115 51.95% -2,349,862 Abnormal
     MRK $0.030 0.08% 8,084,384 41.33% 10,120,322 51.74% -2,035,938 Abnormal
     EWZ $0.320 0.41% 8,384,748 41.10% 16,811,411 82.40% -8,426,663 Abnormal

Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Monday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows EWZ with 8,426,663 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.32000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
