May 4, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 5324 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2476 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3514 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Thursday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Freightcar America Inc. (NASDAQ:RAIL), Pernix Therapeutics Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:PTX), Craft Brew Alliance Inc. (NASDAQ:BREW), EARTH SCIENCE TECH (OTC:ETST), Aptose Biosciences Inc. (NASDAQ:APTO), Workhorse Group Inc. (NASDAQ:WKHS). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  RAIL $3.000 0.24% 309,182 32.04% 302,926 31.39% 6,256 21
  PTX $1.300 0.28% 463,223 38.75% 459,758 38.46% 3,465 27
  BREW $3.050 0.23% 251,586 34.36% 230,453 31.48% 21,133 69
  ETST $0.280 0.27% 73,663 64.64% 32,859 28.83% 40,804 1,457
  APTO $0.250 0.24% 1,699,194 40.39% 1,402,075 33.32% 297,119 11,885
  WKHS $0.640 0.28% 578,531 38.48% 577,463 38.41% 1,068 17
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows RAIL with a dollar gain Thursday of $3.00000 and a Friction Factor of 21 shares. That means that it only took 21 more shares of buying than selling to move RAIL higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
