May 1, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 5560 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3043 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2841 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. Bank of America Corporation (NYSE:BAC), Visa Inc. (NYSE:V), Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), iShares MSCI EAFE Index (NYSE:EFA), Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT), ELEMENTS Rogers Commodity ETN (NYSE:RJI). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  BAC $0.260 0.01% 20,728,729 28.77% 29,160,298 40.47% -8,431,569 Abnormal
  V $0.210 0.00% 1,631,371 15.46% 4,668,806 44.24% -3,037,435 Abnormal
  AAPL $3.030 0.02% 10,033,024 30.03% 12,079,441 36.16% -2,046,417 Abnormal
  EFA $0.260 0.00% 5,480,325 22.25% 9,317,067 37.82% -3,836,742 Abnormal
  MSFT $1.040 0.02% 8,754,119 27.59% 12,178,612 38.39% -3,424,493 Abnormal
  RJI $0.020 0.00% 108,073 2.84% 3,488,723 91.82% -3,380,650 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Monday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows BAC with 8,431,569 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.26000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
