May 2, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 5479 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2998 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2911 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net sell volume on Tuesday and lowest negative price Friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Financial Select Sector SPDR (NYSE:XLF), Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:PFE), Weatherford International Ltd. (NYSE:WFT), United States Oil Fund, LP (NYSE:USO), MARKET VECTORS ETF TRJR GOLD MINES (NYSE:GDXJ), Vince Holding Corp. (NYSE:VNCE). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  XLF $-0.040 -0.00% 21,843,762 29.05% 25,015,797 33.27% -3,172,035 -793,009
  PFE $-0.130 -0.00% 11,719,039 29.26% 16,698,421 41.70% -4,979,382 -383,029
  WFT $-0.120 -0.02% 7,576,520 28.46% 10,178,638 38.23% -2,602,118 -216,843
  USO $-0.120 -0.01% 14,035,137 32.66% 21,991,518 51.18% -7,956,381 -663,032
  GDXJ $-0.050 -0.00% 3,062,631 24.65% 5,657,821 45.54% -2,595,190 -519,038
  VNCE $-0.550 -0.58% 2,494,826 22.08% 5,344,081 47.30% -2,849,255 -51,805
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have low price friction combined with more selling than buying (negative Net Volume) in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows XLF down $-0.04000 with a Friction Factor of -793,009 and a Net Volume of -3,172,035. That means that it takes 793,009 more shares of selling than buying to drop XLF by one penny. On Monday the Market Makers allowed the stock to move down on heavier selling than buying (low negative friction).
