MDA to extend its services to support Canadarm and the International Space Station
RICHMOND, BC, Sept. 23 /CNW/ - MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (TSX: MDA), a provider of essential information solutions, announced today that it has received a $6.4 million (CAD) contract extension from NASA. This extension will continue the sustaining engineering services provided by MDA to support the Space Shuttle Canadarm and its inspection boom, as well as the Robotic Work Station and Berthing Cue on the International Space Station through to December 31, 2010. The contract includes options for an additional $8.6 million (CAD) that could extend through to 2012.
The original contract was announced in January 2008, and provided the opportunity for future options such as the above.
