Copper King Mining: Copper King Announces Update on Start-Up Operations and Nevada Star Option Litigation
MILFORD, UT--(Marketwire - July 30, 2009) - Copper King Mining Corporation (
The Company further wishes to announce that it is responding to an action commenced in Federal District Court for the District of Utah by Pure Nickel, Inc. of Ontario, Canada, formerly Nevada Star Resources Corporation ("Nevada Star") seeking a court ruling on the status of the Nevada Star Option Agreement between the Company's subsidiary, Western Utah Copper Company and Nevada Star. The Agreement relates to approximately 10% of the Company's mineral holdings in the Milford Mineral Belt. The Company will vigorously defend the action, since it has commenced production and has taken all other steps to fully comply with the Agreement. The Company believes that any claim to the contrary is wholly without merit. In addition, the Company will pursue counterclaims for damages occasioned by the commencement of the action and relating to the validity of title to much of the acreage under the Agreement, accounting for what the Company believes constitutes 80% of the mineralization subject to the Agreement. The Company will seek a reduction of royalties and related damages.
