GuestLogix Expands Airline Industry Leadership Position With New Board Member Appointment

Airline Industry Veteran, Travel Tour Expert and Entrepreneur, Leo Desrochers, Joins GuestLogix as a Non-Executive Director

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Feb. 9, 2012) - GuestLogix Inc. (TSX:GXI), the leading global provider of onboard retail and payment technology solutions to airlines and the passenger travel industry, announced today the appointment of Leo Desrochers to the Company's Board of Directors, effectively immediately. Mr. Desrochers brings a wealth of experience to the GuestLogix' Board as he has held numerous senior positions in both the airline and travel tour operations industries. His many years as a member of Air Canada's executive team - as Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer - showcase his proven track record of leadership, vision and ability to produce results.

"Leo's appointment to the Board is a strategic move for GuestLogix," said Mr. Tom Douramakos, Chair of the Board of Directors and President and CEO of GuestLogix. "His insights and strategic guidance will be a valuable asset particularly as we work to further expand our global footprint, enter new markets and leverage our proven strengths this year. In addition, Leo joining the Board coincides with a significant Company milestone as we celebrate our 10th Anniversary as an innovator of onboard retail technology solutions."

"I am very excited to be joining the Board of GuestLogix at this juncture in the Company's history," said Leo Desrochers. "I look forward to working with the management team to help carry out the expansion plans that I believe will translate to increased value for investors."

During Mr. Desrochers' tenure at Air Canada, Skyservice Airlines, North American Leisure Group and Sunquest Vacations, these companies realized exponential growth. His understanding of both airline and traveler needs, combined with more than 30 years of executive experience in the airline industry, position him to play an integral role in helping GuestLogix achieve its targets and growth plans.

As President and CEO of Sunquest Vacations, Mr. Desrochers' commitment to customer service and quality transformed the company, preparing it for expansion and leading to an IPO that resulted in Sunquest being purchased by UK-based Airtours, now owned by Thomas Cook Group PLC. As Chief Operating Officer at Skyservice Airlines, he oversaw a massive expansion of active aircraft, effectively growing the customer base and making it the largest charter airline in Canada. His influence was also crucial in designing, financing and implementing the company's attempt to offer full-service scheduled operations.

"Leo is a dynamic individual whose in-depth knowledge of passenger behaviour and the travel sector will greatly assist GuestLogix to fulfill its mandate to provide customers with the industry's most advanced technology solutions," said Chris Gardner, Nomination Committee Chair.
