February 6, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 3923 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2557 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3336 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net sell volume on Monday and lowest negative price Friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. TENET HEALTHCARE CORP (NYSE:THC), WELLS FARGO & CO (NYSE:WFC), XEROX CORP (NYSE:XRX), ADVANCED CELL TECHNOLOGY INC (OTCBB:ACTC), Micromet Inc (NASDAQ:MITI), MARINER'S CHOICE INTERNATION (OTC:MCII). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction

     WFC $-0.410 -1.34% 6,469,594 28.78% 8,764,183 38.99% -2,294,589 -55,966
     XRX $-0.030 -0.38% 3,386,462 24.78% 6,367,220 46.60% -2,980,758 -993,586
     ACTC $-0.010 -8.26% 9,900,499 39.17% 15,377,513 60.83% -5,477,014 -5,477,014
     MITI $-0.010 -0.09% 2,469,325 29.28% 5,954,942 70.62% -3,485,617 -3,485,617
     MCII $-0.018 -48.00% 2,301,995 32.99% 4,676,525 67.01% -2,374,530 -1,319,183
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have low price friction combined with more selling than buying (negative Net Volume) in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows THC down $-0.03000 with a Friction Factor of -926,019 and a Net Volume of -2,778,056. That means that it takes 926,019 more shares of selling than buying to drop THC by one penny. On Monday the Market Makers allowed the stock to move down on heavier selling than buying (low negative friction).
