February 6, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 3923 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2557 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3336 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. PFIZER INC (NYSE:PFE), MERCK & CO. INC. (NYSE:MRK), EMC CORP/MASS (NYSE:EMC), YAHOO! INC (NASDAQ:YHOO), GENWORTH FINANCIAL INC-CL A (NYSE:GNW), ALCATEL-LUCENT-SPONSORED ADR (NYSE:ALU). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .

Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     PFE $-0.260 -1.23% 10,324,597 32.61% 7,856,636 24.82% 2,467,961 Abnormal
     MRK $-0.060 -0.15% 4,583,922 42.16% 2,981,743 27.43% 1,602,179 Abnormal
     EMC $-0.130 -0.49% 5,644,456 45.04% 3,122,879 24.92% 2,521,577 Abnormal
     YHOO $-0.090 -0.57% 8,369,208 64.79% 4,263,641 33.01% 4,105,567 Abnormal
     GNW $-0.220 -2.40% 4,506,708 37.12% 3,082,227 25.39% 1,424,481 Abnormal
     ALU $-0.020 -1.03% 5,989,573 32.90% 3,940,249 21.65% 2,049,324 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Monday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows PFE with 2,467,961 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-0.26000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
