January 23, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 3816 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3256 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2641 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Monday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. CITIGROUP INC (NYSE:C), Bank of America Corp (NYSE:BAC), POPULAR INC (NASDAQ:BPOP), PROLOGIS (NYSE:PLD), WELLS FARGO & CO (NYSE:WFC), ADVANCED CELL TECHNOLOGY INC (OTCBB:ACTC). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     C $0.210 0.71% 12,799,463 33.01% 10,924,657 28.17% 1,874,806 89,276
     BAC $0.170 2.40% 119,990,485 35.63% 117,654,808 34.93% 2,335,677 137,393

     PLD $0.030 0.09% 4,670,677 61.23% 914,768 11.99% 3,755,909 1,251,970
     WFC $0.360 1.18% 12,419,371 35.93% 8,459,971 24.48% 3,959,400 109,983
     ACTC $0.035 24.07% 35,124,889 53.63% 30,367,351 46.37% 4,757,538 1,363,191
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows C with a Net Buy Volume of 1,874,806 shares and a Friction Factor of 89,276 shares. That means that it takes 89,276 more shares of buying than selling to move C higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Monday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
