January 19, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 3666 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3366 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2420 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Thursday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. STEVIA CO INC (OTC:STEV), SUNTECH POWER HOLDINGS-ADR (NYSE:STP), Trina Solar Ltd (NYSE:TSL), JA SOLAR HOLDINGS CO LTD-ADR (NASDAQ:JASO), Ku6 Media Co Ltd (NASDAQ:KUTV), DAQO NEW ENERGY CORP-ADR (NYSE:DQ). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     STEV $-0.510 -31.68% 2,437,678 43.53% 3,118,212 55.68% -680,534 -13,344
     STP $-0.500 -13.51% 4,396,515 32.42% 5,192,867 38.30% -796,352 -15,927
     TSL $-1.420 -14.48% 2,854,021 32.75% 3,121,977 35.83% -267,956 -1,887
     JASO $-0.320 -15.17% 13,586,434 48.22% 14,589,248 51.78% -1,002,814 -31,338
     KUTV $-0.520 -20.00% 617,591 41.86% 857,527 58.12% -239,936 -4,614
     DQ $-0.380 -13.52% 202,888 28.40% 299,876 41.97% -96,988 -2,552
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows STEV with a dollar loss Thursday of $-0.51000 and a Friction Factor of -13,344 shares. That means that it only took 13,344 more shares of selling than buying to move STEV lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
