IC Places Expands Viewership and Mounts Technology Enhancement Initiative
WINTER PARK, FL--(Marketwire - March 18, 2011) - Today events website IC Places (
IC Places is also mounting a massive technological paradigm shift for its network of 350 City Websites. The Company has retained Rize Technology Corporation, a Web application development and IT Consulting company, to restructure the company websites from Windows based to PHP code language. The shift will increase server speeds and dramatically increase relative performance of its websites.
Creating a Smarter City Website
The technological paradigm shift will allow IC Places sites to do more in less time, delivering a "Smart City" website experience to IC Places visitors.
Once fully launched a visitor will be transported into a vibrant IC Places experience with real time event information passed along as it happens. Along with current entertainment coverage in each city, IC Places servers will monitor all available inputs across the web and interact with a myriad of corporate partner servers. This will result in useable real time information organized intuitively in the way people think.
"Let's say its 9pm Friday night and you decide to go out on the town. Most websites deliver stale lists which are updated every few months. We know the web can do more than that," said Steve Samblis, President of IC Places, Inc. He went on to say, "I wanted to create Smart City Sites that think for you and give you the best advice on where to go right now. Most importantly, the Smart City Sites will offer information based on what is happening right now in your city."
"With our new technology enhancements, our servers will combine user reviews of the clubs in your city, your previous input on taste, the current event calendar, traffic patterns and city wide checkins -- all in nano seconds. When you go to our Smart City Site, you will immediately see a short list of the top five club to visit right now, as well as the top 5 restaurants nearby. We will tell you the best route to where you are going, make a reservation or put your name on a list at the door. We can even have a cab sent to your door if you don't want to drive. That is what our new IC Places 'Smart City' Sites will do upon our upcoming enhancement launch."
The re-launch of IC Places "Smart City" Sites is planned for the Summer of 2011. Rize Corporation has been retained by IC Places to continue programming enhancements through February of 2012.
Monetizing the Experience
IC Places has in place agreements with groups of service based companies with direct access to myriad of services ranging from table reservations, concert and event tickets, transportation reservations, movies tickets and much more. As visitors book services through IC Places "Smart City" Sites, these companies pay commissions to IC Places.
The company also capitalizes on page viewership through page sponsors and pre-roll adverts in IC Places produced shows.
