December 30, 2010 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 2674 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2545 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2855 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Thursday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. MUELLER WATER PRODUCTS INC-A (NYSE:MWA), LYNAS CORPORATION (OTC:LYSCF), ADVANCED CELL TECHNOLOGY INC (OTCBB:ACTC), MBIA INC (NYSE:MBI), ISHARES MSCI TAIWAN INDEX FD (NYSE:EWT), MEDINAH MINERALS INC (OTC:MDMN). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     MWA $0.030 0.73% 2,589,689 66.23% 1,180,126 30.18% 1,409,563 469,854
     LYSCF $0.120 6.00% 4,172,902 56.64% 2,726,161 37.00% 1,446,741 120,562
     ACTC $0.018 12.68% 30,873,862 57.53% 20,968,313 39.07% 9,905,549 5,503,083
     MBI $1.440 13.90% 8,672,705 48.38% 7,193,015 40.13% 1,479,690 10,276
     EWT $0.050 0.33% 4,561,482 59.81% 3,065,269 40.19% 1,496,213 299,243
     MDMN $0.061 82.88% 20,800,030 61.26% 13,104,338 38.59% 7,695,692 1,272,015

Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows MDMN with a Net Buy Volume of 7,695,692 shares and a Friction Factor of 1,272,015 shares. That means that it takes 1,272,015 more shares of buying than selling to move MDMN higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Thursday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
