Market Maker Surveillance Report. STVI, CDII, CNAM, ZBB, CPSL, TEJS, Losing Stocks With Lowest Price Friction For Friday, Dece
December 31, 2010 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 2525 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2838 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2875 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Friday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. SNAP INTERACTIVE INC (OTCBB:STVI), CHINA DIRECT INDUSTRIES INC (NASDAQ:CDII), CHINA ARMCO METALS INC (AMEX:CNAM), ZBB ENERGY CORP (AMEX:ZBB), CHINA PRECISION STEEL INC (NASDAQ:CPSL), TEJAS INC (OTC:TEJS). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction STVI $-0.210 -10.50% 946,735 48.21% 992,298 50.53% -45,563 -2,170 CDII $-0.340 -18.28% 2,852,788 45.03% 3,476,660 54.87% -623,872 -18,349 CNAM $-0.420 -9.79% 402,434 41.11% 551,129 56.31% -148,695 -3,540 ZBB $-0.100 -8.55% 281,493 40.07% 385,045 54.81% -103,552 -10,355 CPSL $-0.260 -13.27% 828,899 38.65% 1,315,563 61.35% -486,664 -18,718 TEJS $-0.990 -49.50% 37,100 30.79% 83,000 68.88% -45,900 -464
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows TEJS with a dollar loss Friday of $-0.99000 and a Friction Factor of -464 shares. That means that it only took 464 more shares of selling than buying to move TEJS lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
