December 31, 2010 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 2525 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2838 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2875 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net sell volume on Friday and lowest negative price Friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. CLEAN POWER CONCEPTS INC (OTCBB:CPOW), CHIMERA INVESTMENT CORP (NYSE:CIM), EXXON MOBIL CORP (NYSE:XOM), CITIGROUP INC (NYSE:C), BOSTON SCIENTIFIC CORP (NYSE:BSX), COMCAST CORP-CLASS A (NASDAQ:CMCSA). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     CPOW $-0.071 -17.88% 28,369,214 41.80% 37,779,432 55.67% -9,410,218 -1,325,383
     CIM $-0.010 -0.24% 3,883,248 34.57% 6,724,199 59.87% -2,840,951 -2,840,951
     XOM $-0.190 -0.26% 4,566,888 30.13% 8,126,418 53.62% -3,559,530 -187,344
     C $-0.020 -0.42% 72,371,625 43.61% 91,742,883 55.29% -19,371,258 -9,685,629
     BSX $-0.150 -1.94% 2,027,713 34.60% 3,373,435 57.57% -1,345,722 -89,715
     CMCSA $-0.080 -0.36% 2,963,186 33.51% 5,593,980 63.26% -2,630,794 -328,849

Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have low price friction combined with more selling than buying (negative Net Volume) in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows CMCSA down $-0.08000 with a Friction Factor of -328,849 and a Net Volume of -2,630,794. That means that it takes 328,849 more shares of selling than buying to drop CMCSA by one penny. On Monday the Market Makers allowed the stock to move down on heavier selling than buying (low negative friction).
