The Integral Fellows program recognizes and supports Microsoft alumni who have made a meaningful difference to others by contributing to the community.

Recipients of the 2009 Microsoft Alumni Foundation Integral Fellows Awards were selected by a distinguished panel of judges -- former President Jimmy Carter, Bill Gates Sr., Bill Drayton, Pierre Omidyar, and Tom Tierney -- and will be announced Wednesday, November 18th at the 2009 Founders' Gala with Bill and Melinda Gates in Bellevue, WA. Said Edward Mandel, CEO of NeXplore Corporation and executive director of the NeXplore Foundation, "NeXplore is very pleased to join the Microsoft Alumni Foundation and fellow sponsors in honoring these exceptional civic and community-minded individuals. Their noble work improves lives, aids communities and makes the world a better place for us all. The many successful and impactful non-profit and social ventures founded or championed by Microsoft alumni attests to the compassion and commitment of these wonderful individuals as well as to Microsoft's charitable, socially oriented corporate culture."

The NeXplore Foundation is committed to supporting non-profit and public sector organizations that advance education, strengthen communities, and improve lives. NeXplore Foundation's Save the Rain Project is committed to ending the water crisis by teaching people living in water-deprived areas around the world to catch, store, clean and use the rain as a sustainable water supply.

Three Microsoft alumni serve on NeXplore Corporation's board of advisors, including NeXplore Foundation Chairman Rowland Hanson, former vice president of corporate communications for Microsoft Corporation; Hani Imam, former general manager, finance operations for Microsoft Corporation; and Amar Nehru, former general manager, emerging markets group for Microsoft Corporation. Former Dallas Cowboy Darren Woodson and NBA great George Gervin also serve on the NeXplore advisory board.

Noting NeXplore and Microsoft's shared commitment to good corporate citizenship, Rowland Hanson introduced NeXplore to the Microsoft Alumni Foundation and facilitated NeXplore's sponsorship of the 2009 Founders' Gala and Integral Fellows program.

"One of the admirable qualities of the NeXplore executive team is a genuine understanding and respect for the importance of corporate social responsibility," said Hanson. "NeXplore employees are encouraged and rewarded for their involvement in environmental and community activism, and NeXplore Foundation is currently expanding its partnership with Save the Rain, a non-profit organization committed to ending the water crisis through rainwater harvesting. I look forward to assisting the NeXplore executive team in finding ways to deepen its involvement with the Microsoft Alumni Foundation."
