March 22, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 5432 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2628 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3209 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. Superior Energy Services Inc. (NYSE:SPN), Procter & Gamble Co (NYSE:PG), Johnson Lambert & Co. (NYSE:S), Companhia Energtica de Minas Gerais - CEMIG (NYSE:CIG), Firesteel Resources Inc (NASDAQ:FTR), Synergy Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ:SGYP). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  SPN $-0.110 -0.01% 2,182,088 43.85% 1,238,053 24.88% 944,035 Abnormal
  PG $-0.060 -0.00% 3,596,466 39.75% 1,263,488 13.97% 2,332,978 Abnormal
  S $-0.010 -0.00% 9,137,444 35.58% 6,047,394 23.55% 3,090,050 Abnormal
  CIG $-0.070 -0.02% 6,320,813 33.67% 5,339,153 28.44% 981,660 Abnormal
  FTR $-0.250 -0.11% 40,742,338 39.30% 33,573,450 32.39% 7,168,888 Abnormal
  SGYP $-0.100 -0.02% 4,389,318 46.92% 3,121,871 33.37% 1,267,447 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Wednesday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows SPN with 944,035 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-0.11000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
