TECHNICOLOR CELEBRATES OSCAR® WINS FOR ITS CUSTOMERS AND VFX DIVISION: MPC

MPC's Guillaume Rocheron receives Oscar for Life of Pi Academy Award-winning Visual Effects

Paris (France) & Hollywood (California) - February 26, 2013 - Technicolor (Euronext Paris: TCH), today announced the wins at Academy Awards in Los Angeles, for its MPC brand's stunning VFX work produced for Life of Pi. The film was the big winner last weekend, receiving four Oscars, including recognition for the films Cinematography, Score, and most importantly, filmmaker Ang Lee who was honored for his achievement in Direction.

The other big winners at last night's event included Argo, Les Miserables, Lincoln, Django, Skyfall and Silver Linings Playbook -- films all served, in one capacity or another, by Technicolor's creative services teams.

"Last year, we had the honor of serving an incredible range of films singled out at this year's Oscars ceremony in Hollywood. Our talent and innovation was very much evidenced by this unique group of films, led by Life of Pi, Ang Lee's stunning achievement," said Frederic Rose, CEO of Technicolor. "Technicolor remains, after nearly 100 years, a vital creative force within the motion picture industry, and we applaud MPC and our customers for their towering achievements."

Technicolor worked on six of the nine nominated films for Best Picture, including the Best Picture winner, Argo. But it was with directors Ang Lee and Steven Spielberg's Life of Pi and Lincoln respectively that Technicolor's creative services talent and teams provided the most material support - originating during principal photography, and culminating with the film's digital intermediate color-grading and finishing.

Technicolor is especially proud of Oscar-winning cinematographer Claudio Miranda, ASC, for his stunning work on Mr. Lee's visual feast for the eyes. Miranda's work was seamlessly integrated with the Oscar-winning visual effects on Life of Pi, produced in part by MPC, a feat that represents the first time in Technicolor history that the company provided creative services and produced visual effects work on the eventual Oscar winner in both categories honoring VFX and cinematography.
