December 28, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 4015 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2172 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3669 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Friday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Ampal-American Israel Corp (NASDAQ:AMPL), Parametric Sound Corp (NASDAQ:PAMT), Tri-Tech Holding Inc (NASDAQ:TRIT), dELiA*s Inc (NASDAQ:DLIA), Yongye International, Inc (NASDAQ:YONG), Sonde Resources Corp (AMEX:SOQ). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  AMPL $0.620 25.83% 99,404 60.16% 65,734 39.78% 33,670 543
  PAMT $0.900 14.63% 37,974 59.46% 25,890 40.54% 12,084 134
  TRIT $0.970 53.30% 604,140 52.87% 538,553 47.13% 65,587 676
  DLIA $0.220 20.95% 145,210 62.96% 85,435 37.04% 59,775 2,717
  YONG $0.750 15.12% 1,067,186 53.10% 913,146 45.43% 154,040 2,054
  SOQ $0.380 28.57% 64,509 23.13% 53,708 19.25% 10,801 284
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows AMPL with a dollar gain Friday of $0.62000 and a Friction Factor of 543 shares. That means that it only took 543 more shares of buying than selling to move AMPL higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
