December 27, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 4207 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2325 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3347 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Thursday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Pacific Sunwear Of California Inc (NASDAQ:PSUN), Lakes Entertainment Inc (NASDAQ:LACO), Caesars Entertainment Corp (NASDAQ:CZR), Morgans Hotel Group Co (NASDAQ:MHGC), SOLOMON GOLD CORP (NASDAQ:SGOC), WSP Holdings Ltd (NYSE:WH). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .

Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  PSUN $-0.120 -8.11% 172,750 40.05% 258,597 59.95% -85,847 -7,154
  LACO $-0.300 -9.55% 29,598 32.78% 60,587 67.11% -30,989 -1,033
  CZR $-0.620 -8.46% 167,280 39.94% 245,735 58.66% -78,455 -1,265
  MHGC $-0.540 -9.23% 66,380 38.93% 92,138 54.03% -25,758 -477
  SGOC $-0.230 -14.56% 514,732 46.17% 600,113 53.83% -85,381 -3,712
  WH $-0.180 -10.40% 30,878 26.74% 32,796 28.40% -1,918 -107
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows PSUN with a dollar loss Thursday of $-0.12000 and a Friction Factor of -7,154 shares. That means that it only took 7,154 more shares of selling than buying to move PSUN lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
