December 27, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 4207 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2325 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3347 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Thursday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Petrobras Argentina SA (NYSE:PZE), Synthesis Energy Systems Inc (NASDAQ:SYMX), Tri-Tech Holding Inc (NASDAQ:TRIT), BPZ Resources Inc (NYSE:BPZ), Enphase Energy Inc (NASDAQ:ENPH), (NYSE:RKUS). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  PZE $0.490 10.40% 67,362 30.92% 67,101 30.80% 261 5
  SYMX $0.130 12.75% 66,801 68.51% 30,705 31.49% 36,096 2,777
  TRIT $0.220 13.75% 45,512 52.68% 40,886 47.32% 4,626 210
  BPZ $0.250 8.99% 858,141 42.33% 698,905 34.48% 159,236 6,369
  ENPH $0.480 15.84% 206,961 55.62% 164,444 44.19% 42,517 886
  RKUS $2.010 10.08% 183,193 37.46% 157,576 32.23% 25,617 127
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows PZE with a dollar gain Thursday of $0.49000 and a Friction Factor of 5 shares. That means that it only took 5 more shares of buying than selling to move PZE higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
