December 27, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 4207 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2325 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3347 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Thursday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Quanex Building Products Corp (NYSE:NX), Rite Aid Corp (NYSE:RAD), Nexen Inc (NYSE:NXY), Cemex SAB de CV (NYSE:CX), Sprint Nextel Corp (NYSE:S), Tamm Oil and Gas Corp (OTC:TAMO). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  NX $0.030 0.15% 854,623 78.10% 134,721 12.31% 719,902 239,967
  RAD $0.020 1.42% 8,458,923 38.00% 7,274,046 32.68% 1,184,877 592,439
  NXY $0.010 0.04% 2,532,878 41.00% 1,484,900 24.04% 1,047,978 1,047,978
  CX $0.080 0.83% 3,693,695 41.74% 2,206,561 24.93% 1,487,134 185,892
  S $0.060 1.08% 10,752,577 38.61% 8,258,677 29.65% 2,493,900 415,650
  TAMO $0.066 49.25% 5,911,454 47.37% 4,933,173 39.53% 978,281 148,224
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows NX with a Net Buy Volume of 719,902 shares and a Friction Factor of 239,967 shares. That means that it takes 239,967 more shares of buying than selling to move NX higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Thursday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
