August 27, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 4043 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2486 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2816 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Monday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. DayStar Technologies Inc (NASDAQ:DSTI), Impac Mortgage Holdings Inc (AMEX:IMH), Hudson City Bancorp Inc (NASDAQ:HCBK), Kenexa Corp (NASDAQ:KNXA), Osage Exploration and Development Inc (OTC:OEDV), Jinkosolar Holding Co Ltd (NYSE:JKS). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  DSTI $0.420 25.46% 176,393 50.42% 165,847 47.40% 10,546 251
  IMH $1.070 23.94% 163,498 34.48% 146,744 30.95% 16,754 157
  HCBK $0.990 15.37% 43,124,524 50.88% 41,703,299 49.21% 1,421,225 14,356
  KNXA $13.400 41.37% 3,275,517 28.97% 3,044,742 26.93% 230,775 172
  OEDV $0.140 13.73% 134,535 68.98% 35,678 18.29% 98,857 7,061
  JKS $0.470 16.49% 92,602 36.28% 84,895 33.26% 7,707 164
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows DSTI with a dollar gain Monday of $0.42000 and a Friction Factor of 251 shares. That means that it only took 251 more shares of buying than selling to move DSTI higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
