April 17, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 3742 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3877 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1935 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Tuesday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. BOSTON SCIENTIFIC CORP (NYSE:BSX), BANK OF AMERICA CORPORATION (NYSE:BAC), GENERAL ELECTRIC COMPANY (NYSE:GE), Sirius XM Radio Inc (NASDAQ:SIRI), (NASDAQ:QQQ), (OTCBB:ONCS). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction BSX $0.070 1.27% 14,360,669 35.33% 11,668,789 28.71% 2,691,880 384,554 BAC $0.140 1.57% 62,724,860 32.98% 59,671,215 31.38% 3,053,645 218,118 GE $0.420 2.22% 11,986,198 35.19% 9,083,221 26.67% 2,902,977 69,119 SIRI $0.070 3.23% 29,282,724 52.59% 26,224,261 47.10% 3,058,463 436,923 QQQ $1.280 1.96% 24,741,960 54.84% 20,704,444 45.89% 4,037,516 31,543 ONCS $0.010 6.25% 4,969,635 69.28% 2,203,934 30.72% 2,765,701 2,765,701Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows BSX with a Net Buy Volume of 2,691,880 shares and a Friction Factor of 384,554 shares. That means that it takes 384,554 more shares of buying than selling to move BSX higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Tuesday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
