April 17, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 3742 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3877 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1935 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net sell volume on Tuesday and lowest negative price Friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. DREAMS INC (AMEX:DRJ), Amarin Corp PLC (NASDAQ:AMRN), INTEL CORPORATION (NASDAQ:INTC), Clearwire Corp (NASDAQ:CLWR), CANNABIS SCIENCE INC (OTCBB:CBIS), (OTCBB:FROG). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  DRJ $-0.010 -0.29% 1,086,187 17.28% 2,835,354 45.10% -1,749,167 -1,749,167
  AMRN $-0.110 -1.14% 1,407,256 32.77% 2,882,655 67.12% -1,475,399 -134,127
  INTC $-0.540 -1.88% 26,621,060 47.93% 28,913,317 52.05% -2,292,257 -42,449
  CLWR $-0.020 -1.31% 6,676,660 45.17% 8,103,947 54.82% -1,427,287 -713,644
  CBIS $-0.016 -11.59% 7,104,770 47.11% 7,976,673 52.89% -871,903 -544,939
  FROG $-0.013 -9.49% 771,583 32.28% 1,618,625 67.72% -847,042 -651,571
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have low price friction combined with more selling than buying (negative Net Volume) in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows DRJ down $-0.01000 with a Friction Factor of -1,749,167 and a Net Volume of -1,749,167. That means that it takes 1,749,167 more shares of selling than buying to drop DRJ by one penny. On Monday the Market Makers allowed the stock to move down on heavier selling than buying (low negative friction).
