April 18, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 3623 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2054 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3770 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Wednesday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. DELTA AIR LINES INC (NYSE:DAL), WALGREEN CO (NYSE:WAG), Sirius XM Radio Inc (NASDAQ:SIRI), HEWLETT-PACKARD COMPANY (NYSE:HPQ), LIQUIDMETAL TECHNOLOGIES INC (OTCBB:LQMT), SXC HEALTH SOLUTIONS CORP (NASDAQ:SXCI). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  DAL $0.090 0.86% 3,674,774 36.27% 2,446,359 24.15% 1,228,415 136,491
  WAG $0.360 1.03% 5,870,701 35.47% 4,782,711 28.89% 1,087,990 30,222
  SIRI $0.020 0.89% 16,601,498 54.35% 13,946,880 45.66% 2,654,618 1,327,309
  HPQ $0.160 0.65% 6,447,972 35.65% 4,854,030 26.84% 1,593,942 99,621
  LQMT $0.104 69.33% 9,788,133 61.81% 6,048,444 38.19% 3,739,689 359,585
  SXCI $8.920 11.12% 6,941,407 51.58% 6,077,157 45.15% 864,250 969
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows DAL with a Net Buy Volume of 1,228,415 shares and a Friction Factor of 136,491 shares. That means that it takes 136,491 more shares of buying than selling to move DAL higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Wednesday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
