April 15, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 2879 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2881 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2007 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Friday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. MBIA INC (NYSE:MBI), AMYLIN PHARMACEUTICALS INC (NASDAQ:AMLN), NOAH EDUCATION HOLDINGS-ADR (NYSE:NED), INTELLICHECK MOBILISA INC (AMEX:IDN), MICROVISION INC (NASDAQ:MVIS), ASIA PACIFIC WIRE & CABLE (OTC:AWRCF). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     MBI $1.820 20.39% 8,507,200 48.36% 7,229,285 41.09% 1,277,915 7,022
     AMLN $1.850 16.43% 5,130,384 50.25% 4,977,665 48.75% 152,719 826
     NED $0.400 17.02% 131,842 66.94% 52,953 26.89% 78,889 1,972
     IDN $0.240 27.27% 474,364 45.10% 425,894 40.49% 48,470 2,020
     MVIS $0.270 21.77% 2,919,464 56.94% 2,207,755 43.06% 711,709 26,360
     AWRCF $1.000 22.22% 43,903 45.74% 26,868 27.99% 17,035 170
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows MBI with a dollar gain Friday of $1.82000 and a Friction Factor of 7,022 shares. That means that it only took 7,022 more shares of buying than selling to move MBI higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
