April 15, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 2879 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2881 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2007 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. CISCO SYSTEMS INC (NASDAQ:CSCO), MICROSOFT CORP (NASDAQ:MSFT), FORD MOTOR CO (NYSE:F), TECHNOLOGY SELECT SECT SPDR (NYSE:XLK), DELL INC (NASDAQ:DELL), WAL-MART STORES INC (NYSE:WMT). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     CSCO $-0.130 -0.76% 50,176,420 60.73% 39,393,613 47.68% 10,782,807 Abnormal
     MSFT $-0.050 -0.20% 60,012,927 92.31% 23,782,098 36.58% 36,230,829 Abnormal
     F $-0.110 -0.74% 23,433,297 49.32% 19,834,122 41.74% 3,599,175 Abnormal
     XLK $-0.040 -0.16% 6,590,988 64.63% 4,467,633 43.81% 2,123,355 Abnormal
     DELL $-0.030 -0.20% 11,115,992 60.93% 8,272,313 45.34% 2,843,679 Abnormal
     WMT $-0.080 -0.15% 5,058,962 58.02% 2,927,241 33.57% 2,131,721 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Friday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows CSCO with 10,782,807 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-0.13000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
