January 13, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 2525 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2227 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2744 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net sell volume on Thursday and lowest negative price Friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. SPDR KBW BANK ETF (NYSE:KBE), ADVANCED CELL TECHNOLOGY INC (OTCBB:ACTC), MICROSOFT CORP (NASDAQ:MSFT), RR DONNELLEY & SONS CO (NASDAQ:RRD), SIRIUS XM RADIO INC (NASDAQ:SIRI), ISHARES MSCI EMERGING MKT IN (NYSE:EEM). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     KBE $-0.180 -0.68% 7,134,971 34.51% 11,058,048 53.49% -3,923,077 -217,949
     ACTC $-0.016 -8.36% 11,266,492 35.80% 18,028,749 57.29% -6,762,257 -4,279,909
     MSFT $-0.150 -0.53% 31,071,758 46.39% 36,577,190 54.61% -5,505,432 -367,029
     RRD $-0.510 -2.82% 1,192,376 18.09% 5,356,517 81.29% -4,164,141 -81,650
     SIRI $-0.010 -0.64% 18,854,369 44.56% 23,448,611 55.42% -4,594,242 -4,594,242
     EEM $-0.360 -0.75% 23,074,619 43.30% 30,223,153 56.71% -7,148,534 -198,570

Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have low price friction combined with more selling than buying (negative Net Volume) in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows EEM down $-0.36000 with a Friction Factor of -198,570 and a Net Volume of -7,148,534. That means that it takes 198,570 more shares of selling than buying to drop EEM by one penny. On Monday the Market Makers allowed the stock to move down on heavier selling than buying (low negative friction).
