January 14, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 2358 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3378 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2061 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net sell volume on Friday and lowest negative price Friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. DIREXION DAILY FINL BEAR 3X (NYSE:FAZ), ISHARES SILVER TRUST (NYSE:SLV), CITIZENS REPUBLIC BANCORP IN (NASDAQ:CRBC), FORD MOTOR CO (NYSE:F), MERCK & CO. INC. (NYSE:MRK), ISHARES MSCI EMERGING MKT IN (NYSE:EEM). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .

Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     FAZ $-0.400 -4.65% 14,322,200 45.22% 17,418,870 54.99% -3,096,670 -77,417
     SLV $-0.200 -0.71% 18,661,168 43.21% 21,030,714 48.69% -2,369,546 -118,477
     CRBC $-0.010 -0.80% 2,406,400 18.27% 10,746,437 81.61% -8,340,037 -8,340,037
     F $-0.020 -0.11% 21,873,633 43.56% 24,620,598 49.03% -2,746,965 -1,373,483
     MRK $-0.470 -1.35% 17,146,809 41.11% 21,210,506 50.85% -4,063,697 -86,462
     EEM $-0.010 -0.02% 18,686,646 48.30% 21,085,972 54.51% -2,399,326 -2,399,326

Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have low price friction combined with more selling than buying (negative Net Volume) in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows EEM down $-0.01000 with a Friction Factor of -2,399,326 and a Net Volume of -2,399,326. That means that it takes 2,399,326 more shares of selling than buying to drop EEM by one penny. On Monday the Market Makers allowed the stock to move down on heavier selling than buying (low negative friction).
