January 12, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 2508 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3279 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2028 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Wednesday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. FORD MOTOR CO (NYSE:F), INTEL CORP (NASDAQ:INTC), SPRINT NEXTEL CORP (NYSE:S), MICRON TECHNOLOGY INC (NASDAQ:MU), CITIGROUP INC (NYSE:C), FINANCIAL SELECT SECTOR SPDR (NYSE:XLF). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     F $0.380 2.08% 27,505,481 49.86% 22,675,169 41.10% 4,830,312 127,113
     INTC $0.240 1.12% 24,670,115 54.32% 20,674,021 45.52% 3,996,094 166,504
     S $0.010 0.34% 26,592,535 51.66% 22,024,343 42.79% 4,568,192 4,568,192
     MU $0.620 7.11% 44,853,465 53.34% 39,066,843 46.46% 5,786,622 93,333
     C $0.100 2.13% 274,564,316 55.64% 208,502,530 42.25% 66,061,786 6,606,179
     XLF $0.260 1.60% 39,296,666 55.29% 31,988,739 45.01% 7,307,927 281,074

Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows XLF with a Net Buy Volume of 7,307,927 shares and a Friction Factor of 281,074 shares. That means that it takes 281,074 more shares of buying than selling to move XLF higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Wednesday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
