Market Maker Surveillance Report. HSYT, ZBB, TSTC, NVTL, BFSB, TLB, Losing Stocks With Lowest Price Friction For Tuesday, Janu
January 11, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 2553 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3267 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2047 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Tuesday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. HOME SYSTEM GROUP (OTCBB:HSYT), ZBB ENERGY CORP (AMEX:ZBB), TELESTONE TECHNOLOGIES CORP (NASDAQ:TSTC), NOVATEL WIRELESS INC (NASDAQ:NVTL), BROOKLYN FEDERAL BANCORP INC (NASDAQ:BFSB), TALBOTS INC (NYSE:TLB). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction HSYT $-0.320 -23.19% 73,150 35.84% 95,337 46.71% -22,187 -693 ZBB $-0.270 -18.75% 346,637 36.59% 602,038 63.55% -255,401 -9,459 TSTC $-2.640 -25.73% 3,124,360 45.63% 3,668,688 53.58% -544,328 -2,062 NVTL $-1.930 -19.18% 1,722,748 42.71% 2,221,832 55.08% -499,084 -2,586 BFSB $-0.190 -15.08% 133,015 39.53% 203,492 60.47% -70,477 -3,709 TLB $-1.320 -17.44% 13,554,192 46.48% 13,582,508 46.57% -28,316 -215
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows TLB with a dollar loss Tuesday of $-1.32000 and a Friction Factor of -215 shares. That means that it only took 215 more shares of selling than buying to move TLB lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
