ANAHEIM, CA--(Marketwire - July 14, 2010) - NavStar Technologies, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: [ NVSR ]), a company focused on producing and commercializing products and services for tracking/monitoring and reporting on the location and condition of high value cargo and other assets, today announced its sales and customer focus for the next 12 months.

NavStar will focus sales, marketing and distribution efforts using the same hardware and service platform in three geographic regions: (1) Latin America where commercial interdiction is a major problem; governments of these countries are an oblivious customer for NavStar's products and services to ensure the safety and security of the movement of their high value assets. (2) US and Canada where tracking/monitoring and reporting will be supplemented with unique/customized Location Based Services (LBS). (3) Distribution joint ventures are a key focus for Japan, Korea and thePhilippines.

N. Douglas Pritt, Chairman and CEO, NavStar Technologies, Inc., stated, "We have initiated three strategies to achieve these sales objectives:

  1. Concentrate our marketing and sales focus in Latin America, US/Canada and Asia.
  2. Place additional emphasis on annuity-based services that complement our renowned line of hardware products.
  3. Develop new Location Based Services (LBS), initially for the US and Canada. We will leverage the service applications and sell them into other regions in 2011."

NavStar is in field trial with an upgraded version of their vehicle asset tracker. It is smaller than the original unit and has many new application features built into the hardware. Manufacturing will begin in August.

The combination of wireless and GPS technology (LBS) will allow NavStar to provide new and creative services like (a) "real-time" visibility to fleet vehicles for better customer service, (b) temperature of refrigeration trailers (c) notification if trailer doors are opened in unauthorized area. ABI Research projects Compound Annual Growth Rates (CAGR's) of 30% per year for LBS services over the next 5 years.
