(NYSE:NHI) announced today it has closed a $6.2 million sale of two skilled nursing facilities in Texas to its current lessee Legend Healthcare and affiliates (aLegenda). These facilities were constructed in 1986 and 1990, total 182 beds, and were originally leased to Legend in March 2005 with a purchase option. NHI is deferring the recognition of the gain on the sale of these facilities by utilizing the like-kind exchange rules under Section 1031 of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code.
