LONDON--(Marketwire - May 10, 2010) - Xchanging (LSE: XCH), one of the largest and fastest growing business processors, has won the Pegasystems Innovator of the Year award in the European Insurance sector category. This annual award honours a company that has discovered new and effective ways to leverage the Pegasystems Business Process Management (BPM) technology and Build for Change® thinking to create a tactical and / or competitive advantage. Xchanging won the award for the Claims Workflow Service which is delivered as a managed service to the London Insurance Market. The service orchestrates the claims agreement process across participants of the Lloyd's market.

Pegasystems is the leading provider of Business Process Management (BPM) software solutions, and its customers include many world-class organisations, including American Express, JPMorgan Chase, Expedia, HSBC and Mastercard. Headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Pegasystems has offices in North America, Europe, India and Asia Pacific. Xchanging has been working with Pegasystems since 2007. The first project was to provide an automated solution for Premium and Policy processing in Xchanging Ins-sure Services. This was followed by a roll out of Pegasystems' SmartBPM suite in Germany with Deutsche Bank.

As business processing services assume a broader strategic role within companies, customers are increasingly looking for fully integrated suites of services that can safely cater to scale and efficiency demands. In a global operating environment this requires world class software and technology platforms. Xchanging's partnership with Pegasystems means the company can deliver comprehensive, real time service performance improvements to its customers.

The award was presented to Xchanging at Pegasystems' annual conference, PegaWORLD, held in Philadelphia. Speaking after the awards' ceremony, Alan Trefler, Founder and CEO of Pegasystems said, "Xchanging won this award for demonstrating genuine innovation in their use of a Pegasystems solution and this fits perfectly with the 'Build for Change' philosophy that we enjoy seeing in action for our customers. They are now benefiting from the business transformation work that they have undertaken which is helping them to not only to provide better service to customers but also realize greater value from their systems."

David Andrews, Chief Executive of Xchanging added, "As organisations seek to improve efficiency and reduce costs, the use of Business Process Management technology is becoming increasingly desirable. At Xchanging, our goal is to constantly provide our customers with cutting-edge technology platforms and to drive efficient business processing. Receiving this award is particularly satisfying because it highlights our commitment to delivering innovative solutions that help our customers stay ahead of the curve."
