NEW YORK--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Time Warner Cable Inc. (NYSE:TWC) announced today that it has received over one million unique visits to its Roll Over or Get Tough website ([ www.rolloverorgettough.com ]) with more than 90% of those who commented still telling Time Warner Cable to ‘Get Tough' with Fox's unreasonable demands.

"We've done everything we can to reach a fair agreement and now it's really up to Fox. We hope they will agree to a deal that's reasonable for everyone"

"Our customers are letting us know that they want us to fight against rapidly increasing and unreasonable programming costs," said Glenn Britt, Chairman, President, and CEO of Time Warner Cable. "Despite an aggressive advertising campaign from Fox over the last two weeks, our customers understand these issues and have asked us to stand up to Fox. They know every provider will ultimately be subjected to this treatment by Fox and other networks."

Comments posted today on the Roll Over or Get Tough site reinforce Britt's point.

"I think that Fox programming is maybe the best on TV now," said one visitor to RollOverOrGetTough.com. "I love shows like ‘Sons of Anarchy,' ‘Nip/Tuck' and ‘The Shield,' [which] was my favorite show of all time. Having said that, I don't think it is fair to ask people to pay ridiculous prices for these shows, even though they are good. It was hard for me to say ‘Get Tough,' but if we don't take a stand, then this kind of thing will happen again and again. I admire Time Warner [Cable] for being proactive about this and giving their customers a voice to be heard and looking out for the consumers' interests. In this day, a company thinking more of their customers than of money is very rare."

The company launched its Roll Over or Get Tough campaign on November 25 to ask customers for their feedback on rapidly rising programming costs and to help people better understand the tough choices video distributors like Time Warner Cable have to make. It is a multifaceted campaign that involves the website; newspaper, online and TV advertising; and emails to customers.

Time Warner Cable's contract with Fox networks expires at 12:01 AM New Year's Day. "We've done everything we can to reach a fair agreement and now it's really up to Fox. We hope they will agree to a deal that's reasonable for everyone," said Britt.
