Market Maker Surveillance Report. DGII, ROCK, REV, ARCB, IESC, IDRA, Losing Stocks With Lowest Price Friction For Friday, May

May 5, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 5276 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3971 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2032 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Friday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Digi International Inc. (NASDAQ:DGII), Gibraltar Industries Inc. (NASDAQ:ROCK), Revlon Inc (NYSE:REV), ArcBest Corp (NASDAQ:ARCB), Integrated Electrical Services Inc. (NASDAQ:IESC), Idera Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ:IDRA). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  DGII $-1.850 -0.15% 40,056 22.17% 41,807 23.14% -1,751 -9
  ROCK $-4.580 -0.12% 363,806 31.38% 416,156 35.90% -52,350 -114
  REV $-5.950 -0.24% 362,503 28.66% 434,450 34.35% -71,947 -121
  ARCB $-6.500 -0.25% 291,915 31.75% 298,965 32.51% -7,050 -11
  IESC $-2.650 -0.13% 76,199 37.04% 77,102 37.48% -903 -3
  IDRA $-0.250 -0.12% 832,779 29.55% 1,392,261 49.40% -559,482 -22,379
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows DGII with a dollar loss Friday of $-1.85000 and a Friction Factor of -9 shares. That means that it only took 9 more shares of selling than buying to move DGII lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
