March 20, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 5546 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2577 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3312 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net sell volume on Monday and lowest negative price Friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. MGIC Investment Corporation (NYSE:MTG), Bank of America Corporation (NYSE:BAC), Transocean Ltd. (NYSE:RIG), Regions Financial Corporation (NYSE:RF), Firesteel Resources Inc (NASDAQ:FTR), Marathon Petroleum Corporation (NYSE:MPC). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  MTG $-0.240 -0.02% 669,195 6.35% 6,320,083 59.97% -5,650,888 -235,454
  BAC $-0.410 -0.02% 26,359,079 28.92% 36,060,268 39.57% -9,701,189 -236,614
  RIG $-0.250 -0.02% 5,813,070 25.21% 8,802,648 38.18% -2,989,578 -119,583
  RF $-0.170 -0.01% 4,376,192 26.90% 7,058,729 43.39% -2,682,537 -157,796
  FTR $-0.040 -0.02% 13,700,794 35.13% 18,114,780 46.44% -4,413,986 -1,103,497
  MPC $-0.290 -0.01% 767,889 11.63% 3,532,353 53.51% -2,764,464 -95,326
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have low price friction combined with more selling than buying (negative Net Volume) in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows MTG down $-0.24000 with a Friction Factor of -235,454 and a Net Volume of -5,650,888. That means that it takes 235,454 more shares of selling than buying to drop MTG by one penny. On Monday the Market Makers allowed the stock to move down on heavier selling than buying (low negative friction).
