March 20, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 5546 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2577 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3312 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. iShares MSCI Emerging Markets ETF (NYSE:EEM), Procter & Gamble Co (NYSE:PG), Archer Daniels Midland co (NYSE:ADM), Cisco Systems Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO), Weatherford International Ltd. (NYSE:WFT), INNOCENT INC. (OTC:INCT). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction EEM $0.480 0.01% 21,188,053 32.86% 26,693,303 41.40% -5,505,250 Abnormal PG $0.220 0.00% 1,444,723 15.04% 3,611,380 37.61% -2,166,657 Abnormal ADM $0.130 0.00% 563,817 11.84% 2,510,831 52.74% -1,947,014 Abnormal CSCO $0.050 0.00% 3,664,222 26.46% 5,655,132 40.84% -1,990,910 Abnormal WFT $0.050 0.01% 4,181,947 30.32% 5,886,718 42.69% -1,704,771 Abnormal INCT $0.018 0.14% 1,654,779 32.66% 3,410,366 67.32% -1,755,587 AbnormalAnalysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Monday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows EEM with 5,505,250 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.48000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
